WHO WE ARE
The ASME Innovative Technologies Institute, LLC, provides market-relevant engineering and technology-based products and services to the government, industry and academic markets.

ASME-ITI is a wholly owned, not-for-profit subsidiary of ASME, a professional society that is one of the oldest and largest technical and standards developing organizations in the world.

Since its inception, ASME-ITI has dedicated itself to advancing the quality and range of risk and resilience management.  It provides research, development, demonstration, analysis, and advice on this subject matter to government at all levels, business and industry, and educational and non-profit organizations.

RISK ANALYSIS:  OUR CORE EXPERTISE

ASME’s first risk management process, Risk Analysis and Management for Critical Asset Protection (RAMCAPSM) Process was produced in 2002 and has been refined continuously since.  The current version, the RAMCAP Plus® Process, is an expanded, all-hazards approach that addresses both risk and resilience for asset owners and managers and the communities they serve.

Working in conjunction with business and industry, ASME-ITI has developed eight sector-specific versions of the RAMCAPSM Process.   The organization is currently working with the water sector and institutions of higher education to apply this expanded approach to their infrastructure needs through the development of American National Standards.  A ‘framework’ RAMCAP Plus® standard is also being developed by ASME Codes & Standards for application to any sector.

ASME-ITI is also addressing the larger national need of infrastructure reinvestment.  At a regional level, ASME-ITI is leveraging its risk analysis expertise to address regional interdependencies and resilience.

ASME-ITI & AWWA Issue Standard: Managing Risk & Resilience at Water Utilities

This standard is designed to help water and wastewater utilities identify potential threats to U.S. water infrastructure and prepare for or mitigate damage.  The Standard and associated training course are available for purchase through AWWA.
